The Project
The climate crisis and the extinction of species are the most urgent ecological challenges of our time. The mobility sector plays a central role in meeting the global 1.5 degree target.
Fans travelling to and from a concert account for 40-90% of the total CO2 footprint of a show.
Almost a quarter of a million fans travelled to the summer tour 2023 of German pop-rock band AnnenMayKantereit. They travelled a distance equivalent to almost 1,200 trips around the world! So it was about time to address the issue of sustainable mobility at major events too.
The sustainable fan travel project TICKET TO RIDE by The Changency and Crowd Impact accompanied 10 of 13 tour concerts.

More about the project
TICKET TO RIDE is the joint project of The Changency and Crowd Impact in co-operation with AnnenMayKantereit - and the AnnenMayKantereit summer tour audience! The project is supported by Landstreicher Booking and Fridays For Future.
TICKET TO RIDE creates awareness among concertgoers, inspiration and knowledge among promoters and triggers dialogue among decision-makers.
- A communication and action campaign was implemented at 10 concerts on AnnenMayKantereit's 2023 summer tour to motivate the audience to travel to the event in a way that produces fewer greenhouse gases and is therefore more sustainable.
- 38 Fridays For Future activists recorded the audience's journey of 5,000 visitors using the Crowd Impact survey app and an additional survey.
- The findings from the project were discussed with decision-makers from the music and event industry, transport, politics and science at a round table in March 2024.
- The project summary and the extended analysis show the results and the knowledge gained from the project.
